Imagine a darker and more mysterious version of Alice in Wonderland, departing from its usual bright colors and cheerful tone. For our assignment, we had to recreate a book cover for a classic novel and fill in two chapters' contents. I chose Alice in Wonderland and aimed to retain some of its originality while infusing a darker theme. Inspired by the Cheshire Cat's colors, I illustrated the cover that depicts the famous rabbit hole through which Alice fell in. The rabbit’s hole features symbols like the rabbit’s pocket watch, tea cups, a key, and the Mad Hatter’s hat. While maintaining an element of fantasy, I selected a decorative and classic-looking typeface to slightly lighten the cover's dark atmosphere. For the chapter titles, I used the same typeface as the title of Alice in Wonderland and added small illustrations for imagery. The result was a unique take on the classic novel, embracing its essence while giving it a darker twist.
